Default Switch From One Forum Software To Another?

When upgrading, usually you can perserve your forum data. What about if you want to change software, such as a jump from SMF to phpBB, or from phpBB to vBulletin, etc. Is anything like that ever possible.

Every upgrade I usually ask some expert to do it for me as its very risky if I do it on my own considering that its an active forum.

Most forum software will provide utilities for importing data from other forum softs. Either built in, or as stand-alone utils.

I know SMF has utils for converting from just about any other Forum Software. vBulletin is the same, I believe.

There are converters you can use.

One is available in the vBulletin Member's Area.
