Correct, same like the plaincart. If you are a good programmer then you are able to make it more clearable and applicable according to your Interest. Sometimes they are really in need as the API of most paid ones are not that much easy to figure out.

I use oscommerce. It's free. The OP has some valuable information, but I think it's wrong about saying to expect to pay hundreds of dollars.

There are plenty of online shopping cart software available to the users, it's wise to only choose the reliable and secure one...

I will highly recommended ecommercetemplates, as its more secure and sophisticated than other shopping cart software.
