Default ShareBuilder: online stock investing

not sure if i've created this thread already but i can't find it so maybe i didn't. who here is into investing on stocks, be it online or real time? how long have you been into it and what advice could you give? i have a sharebuilder account but stopped the plan for a while. got a little under 1K on it for 3 companies...only been doing it for a month. not too sure if i'd like to continue it. i was thinking of liquidating my share...any tips on how i should go about doing that?

I own some bank shares but that's it for me. I want to dabble in the market a bit, but just haven't gotten around to it.

I want to cash out my stocks as well but I'm waiting to find the most tax friendly way of doing it. I think I might use the income to invest in a new house, but I'm waiting to find out if this will help me skip the hefty taxes I'm currently facing.

Back on topic... I haven't tried sharebuilder.

I dabbled a bit as well, but now I invest all my money in myself and my businesses.

Dabbling in the market certainly requires a lot of research. The best of indulging into this is to but shares of blue chip companies with a long term view so that one can realise handsome retruns from their investments.

I really don't like the fact that you can only buy and sell once a week. Drastic changes can happen very quickly and you need the ability to react. ScottTrade only costs a few dollars more so I would recommend them. Zecco is totally free but I hear they have problems with down time.

I used to be a very active and aggresive online stock investor four years ago...

Yep, I did make decent fortune in the online stock investing, but I hated the life of being so paranoia and worrisome each single day.

Therefore, I left the online stock 2 years ago, and I haven't regretted I did it.
