Always worth reading the TOS. Main problem with free sites: Adverts and No Guarantee. You could spend ages getting your site going only to have them pull the plug without any warning.

So What's the Catch?
There is none! You only have to follow our guidelines and we place a small collapsible text banner on your page.

You can also procede to click on About and there is no page.

New fresh site, trying to run hosting services off advertising, 2 things can happen.

1: Lycos,

2: They'll pull the plug because they cant afford it.

That's why I no longer use free hosts....I dished out the money and I don't have to deal with adverts and all.

Besides free webspace with this much just SOUNDS too good to be true....there's always a catch.

yeah, unfortunatly it is the case than you dont get something for nothing. Companies will always want an advert, or limited bandwidth or something to secure their future.

It is a far better investment to purchase a package or set up your own server to host pages from. Setting up a server is my main goal. At the moment I have only been able to get one up temporarily due to dynamic ip, power costs etc. Once I complete uni I plan to get a permanent one up.

That would be so cool!! If I was into the Hardware of things I'd do it...but my husband is into that kind of thing...never know he may take a whim and do it himself LOL.

I've seen people who do that and tend to make pretty good just by doing that.

yeah, it can get kind of annoying when you have the knowledge to do something but like the assets to move forward. Not that its a huge problem, my current host is the best uive dealt with in years http://www.bargainhost.co.uk .Never had an issue with them and their support is brilliant.
