As a host/designer I had to offer domain names as part of the overall package.
I looked at eNom but the idea of loading up credit and having somebody blow it all by using my automated site set up was a bit daunting. I found www.planetdomain.com who provide a full API which allows me to retain an element of consistency in layout but use their system. They are not the cheapest but they have been reliable. Yahoo domains offers domains at USD 1.99 for 1 years. any .com,net and infoplus i think many others. whats important to know is before you jump in, is that you cant "push" your domian from them to thers like namecheap so if you want to move around, dont get it.
i have yahoo on many accounts and found it difficult to operate 2 or 3 accounts from different organizations, if each one has 4 or 5 domains. please share your thoughts on this as well. regards, |

A while back, I registered a bunch of names for $6 with 1and1. It was cheap, sure, but their customer service is not superb and they make it extremely difficult to do anything with your domains outside of their own services. I would definitely have paid an extra $2-3 per domain for a considerably better service.

When I was surfing on Digital Point Forums, I found .info domains for 1.99 and then there was some on sale for .99 as well, this domain name is very cheap to have. I think its better than all the others (except .com, .ca).

Yahoo is running the $2 domain deal again for a bit so that is pretty cheap but I think if you want to go with a cheap and good domain site go with Godaddy because they always have coupons that you can use to same some money.

I use Domain Name Registration, Domain Transfers. Your domain name search starts here. and http://mydomain.com for my domains.
I have also heard NameCheap to be very good. Now I am a reseller for Stargate and Enom, so my domains are through that.
