I tend to avoid the cheapest option. They are often the most unstable. I use domainsite myself. Its like $6.95USD and i have never had a problem in the 1.5 yrs i been using them.

Guess I'm old fashioned .... I do pay more for my domains at www.registerfly.com but I love their admin functions, management, and so far decent support. They do have issues every once in a while but overall I'm pleased, but as I said I pay between 7.99 and 9.99 for .com's

Make sure you do research before you buy your domains. Some of those sale prices do not include dns management (mine don't). It can be an expensive add-on if you don't want to host with the same company where you buy your domain.

In my experiance cheap domain names always come with a cost, like the last post said many cheap domain names dont come with DNS management http://www.freeparking.com is a brilliant registrant in my opinion I have used them for years and have never had a problem and the management facilities you get when you purchase a domain name is second to none.

Netfirms is useless company, they don't give any advance domain management tool.
My personal experience with them is too bad there Support team is useless, The only good thing they have is cheap prices.

Before you buy any domain remember :
- Godaddy and namecheap are two best options around ( follow the link to view Registrar reviews http://www.registerindex.com/ ), but if you are not intrested in trading your domain in future then you should choose any local firm. bcoz they will offer the best support bcoz of there limited users plus ease of payment will also be a plus point.
- always remember that most domain sellers( 95%+ ) are not direct Registrars they are Resellers, and they actually register your name using Godaddy, enom, NS services mainly.
- Before you register your new domain with GD or namecheap, search for latest discount coupons available. dncoupons.com is a good place to go.

I used www.GoDaddy.com for mine after a recommendation from a couple of good professional friends of mine. I can't remember how much I pay a year, but I pay in GBP so it's only like £5 a year or something. I'm not fussed, it's quick and easy and does what I need.

I am also using namecheap, but hardly feel like a dumbass ;)

I've been using them for years (3-4 anyway) and am yet to have any issues with them. Since the clients picks up the tab for this, cost isn't an issue (for me anyway ;D )

Who knows if these super cheap guy are fly by night or not. Would rather pay a little extra for a service that has longevity.
