If anyone has any experience in domain parking I could use a bit of advice. I have a "few" that I am wishing to park right now.
I have been accepted at 4 different domain parking sites. I figured I would pick out two of them. Sedo, traffic.com, domain sponsor, and I am not sure what the other one was. I'm new to the parking idea, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, thanks for your reply I appreciate it, so that is one for Sedo. Hmm is there a poll set up on the forum? Maybe a poll for the types of domian parkers out there?
Something like that could help others to decide.

Hi Zwelie;
I suppose not too many are interested in sharing who they host with in regards to domain parking. Sad, I thought that the forum was to help others:( apparently I got the wrong impression in regards to people helping others in here.

Hi 4css
Perhaps most people haven't a clue about domain parking. For me it is buying a domain and leaving it on a host so you don't keep getting 404 pages :) If you could summarise in a user-friendly way what it is all about we could perhaps sticky it for a bit and see what occurs? Let me know :)

Domain Parking In the Web hosting business, DNS parking is a service that the Web host will offer to its clients as a way of securing a domain name for future use. The Web host registers the domain name with the InterNIC and "parks" the domain name on a server until it is ready to be made active. By doing this, the Web host ensures the availability of the domain name for the client's future use so that another individual or company cannot register that same domain name. The type of domain parking that I am discussing is where you park your page, they optimize the page and with type in traffic, and maybe a few searches if you are lucky to have the correct domain name, you make money off those who host the domains for parking.
You don't have to purchase your domain through them, just adjust your nameserver to point to theirs and viola, you are "supposed" to be able to make money. There are several services out there, the one mentioned above which is Sedo. My curiosity is in which one of the services are decent and what experiences others have had with the different services that are out there.

there is plenty of info about that on line. but perhaps the biggest issue you may need to know is that your site needs to meet sertain criteria to be accepted to many of these services.
most importnantly, you need to have huge traffic coming to the site. and you obvously need a good name as well as a .com and nothing else. now many will take you otherwise, but their fees will not be too good and many will try to fcuk you for your money. perhaps the best thing if you dont have traffic is to advertisze your site and make moeny that way - if you are in it to make $, which i assume you are. piece man and good luck. business 2.0 mag had a great issue in may or april of this year that you should order. tonss of info on parking. |
