Domain name ownership

If a domain name is registered under a fictitious name, who can claim ownership to that domain name? This is true in my case. From an exchange deal, I got a domain name but not registered under name . I don't have access to the domain name . However, the DNS is pointed to my web host.

If a domain name is registered under a fictitious name then ICANN can actually take away the domain due to this very reason. That is why you should always be careful with this.

Why didn't you change the information? How is it still pointing to your server? If it is, you should still have access. ICANN would have parked it on their server.

Instead you can hide your personal info using very many services available right now to hide your personal info rather than not having your personal info at all. Ask your domain hosts about it.
