I heard that the registrar Registerfly is in the brink of extinction as domain name registrar. I wonder what will happen to your domain name if it closes down prior to the transfer of your domian name.

I have heard nothing but bad things about them, and they have already lost their ICANN accreditation. As far as I know people have been unable to transfer domains out because they aren't able to get confirmation e-mails for the transfer from Registerfly. I know Godaddy is offering a program where they will approach ICANN on your behalf if you switch to them, so you might want to go that route.

In fairness to Registerfly I have had no problem with the domain names I acquired from this registrar. Let me see how my domain name transfer will work out since it is the only way out for me to retain rights to the domain name I registered with Registerfly.

It seems that most of their domains have now been transfered over to Godaddy. I bet you that Bob Parsons must be a very happy man to get all that extra business suddenly.
