I recently went looking for a new domain name for a site I was setting up.

I used the site Instant Domain Search which I found very helpful when trying to find a good domain name that not yet been taken.

I found the perfect domain name after a while of searching and was going to purchase it the following day when I had some money in Paypal.

I just went to purchase the domain then and guess what.. somebody else purchased the domain just a few hours after I typed it into that site.

scoooooty, I built Instant Domain Search. I didn't steal your name. I make money with a partnership with Register.com, enough that I don't need to do evil things like steal users' names.

Your name was probably snapped up by a bot registering names on spec. It'll probably be released five days after it was registered.

Next time you find a good name, buy it!

That's a helpful site, but why does it only give you results for .com, .net, and .org? I think it would be a lot more useful if you were to include the other TLD's. As far as the bots I have heard of that problem and if I come up with a good name that is available I register it immediately.

It is a great site but it was just a little bit suss that somebody else brought the domain name just a couple hours after I typed it into your site.

I had not told anybody else about the domain either.

wow..thats really fast, i remember telling my friend when he got a cool domain and later some one contacted him with an offer of 1000$..domain reselling is a cool business..i just wish i had the time..

Fishy maybe. But if the name is so good, how do you know someone else didn't think of it for themself? That's why I buy something when I think of it and don't go searching for if something's available until I go to buy it.
