I can't believe that anyone would even consider this but the url h-e-double hockeysticks.com was up for auction this week.

What sickens me is that society truly is so hedonistic. Gotta hop up on my soapbox for a second...

Ok, so not everyone believes in heaven and hell but the theory behind the hot/bad place is enough to make it taboo. That someone might consider putting time/effort/energy into creating a bad place that would attract people because of the taboo nature of it shows me what a sadistic world we live in.
Really sad in my opinion. I'm glad no one bought it but the fact that it's even possible for someone to conceive of expecting a million dollars for it when there's so much hunger, pain and suffering in the world is truly sickening.

hmm well even unpronounceable, LLLL.com domains are going for a premium these days.. So I'm not surprised that a word that nearly every english speaker on the globe knows and attaches an emotion with goes for a lot of money. Its pretty easy to make a brand out of that domain after all.. you just need to find something to put on it that will monetize.

I think it's quite a reasonable price actually, sure, I can't afford it but the uses for that particular domain far extend beyond the religious connotations that could be attached to.

In fact, the typein value alone would almost be worth a million dollars.

I am sorry if my opinion is maybe offensive for you, but neverthless i want to share it. Like you already said not everyone believes in hell. I guess the real number of people worldwide who believe in it will be rather small. And people who believe in it should not obtrude their point of you to other side. So if someone wants to buy it, he or she should go ahead.

Nevertheless the price is unreal.

No way, I wouldn't pay such huge money for a domain name, at least it makes me sure I can make good money with it. If it's good traffic, good income, it's possible someone buy it.
