Default A Mean Trick

A mean trick to make money with domains is to buy domains you think someone else wants. For example, you can buy celebrity domain names and tell the celebrity, or you can buy business-name's domain name. Then, you can offer to sell the domain to the would-be owner for an inflated price.

For example, if I was starting a business name unistraky. You could buy unistraky.com and offer to sell it to me for a few hundred dollars.

There is also the problem that you can be taken to court if you try to be too greedy. In that situation there good be problems than gains.

Another thing is to buy a domain site that is a common type-o and put ads on it. That's something in courts right now.
Like :
microsfot.com
or
possibly: percharge.net..

The whole register before thing works only if the buyer agrees. Some people will take you to court if they can prove that it's a copyright infringement for example you'll notice all microsoft common misspellings domains are all leading to microsoft. It sued someone who owned the domain micosoft.com I think and the courts ruled that they were right in demanding that domain, they claimed it would mislead users who want to reach the true microsoft website.

Thank You

Right indeed.

Most of the time the misspelled domains are used as spishing sites.

Is this legal? As I've read somewhere that those established names should only be used by the one who owns them. About on the typo, I have a friend with that domain and he actually gets around 500 uniques per day, not bad.

depend on if the name is TM name or if the person want to sue you. It is not illegal, but rather ethical issue
