Default Thinking of a Domain Name

I hope you have had this same problem as me. You think of a good idea for a website in a field or niche that you'll can do well. However, the most common-name is taken. For example, if you wanted to make a site about fishing bait, the domain fishingbait.com is taken, similarly fishing-bait.com is taken, etc.

What do you do to think up possible domain names? I usually brainstorm to try and think up as many as I can, check the availability, write down the available ones, then when I can't think of any more I choose from the list. However, sometimes I get a brain-lock when I try to brainstorm. What do you do to creatively think of a domain name that is good? It's hard because while you need to be creative, you also need to think of something that makes sense in a traditional way.

Try NameBoy.com It'll give you so many combinations of ideas that it gets ludicrous. And for every suggestion it tells you which of those names in the TLD are taken and which are available. A very handy tool for your delema!
