This a TIPS to prevent certain website connect to the Internet. Useful for parent control Internet Connection for their children
1) Find hosts file from your computer. Normally it locate at C:\Windows\system32\driver\etc. 2) Open the file using notepad. Right Click and Open with notepad. 3) Add after the last line in the file. Example: You need to blocked Testing Foundations - Brian Marick. Edit the last line. # Copyright (c) 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp. # # This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows. # # This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each # entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should # be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name. # The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one # space. # # Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual # lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol. # # For example: # # 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server # 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host 127.0.0.1 localhost 127.0.0.1 Testing Foundations - Brian Marick Then save the file. Changing such file may also affect the behavior of your operating system. One additional suggestion is to make a back up copy of the original file. In case of PC misbehavior because of file changes, you can easily restore your original file.

Its a good tip. I think now most parents could be safe. But as said, for the prevention people must take the back up. Its obvious that since the file contents have been changed, there will be a change in the behaviour of the browser too.
