is it a really bad idea or over clock for example graphic card of the laptop? for me it seems like a bad idea because laptops seem fragile to begin, but im not sure if that matters or not, so anyone tried overclocking laptop hardware and did it damage the laptop?

i cant tell you for sure but from what i tried i would think you shouldnt try overclocking. i used some program that tries to use all resources of the laptop (some emulator) and it made one of my ram slots get damaged :S

laptops with good hardware get really hot fast, not if overclocked the process will go even faster, im sure it can be done, but there is a bigger risk than with desktops, so i dont think it is a good idea to overclock your laptop

It really depends how confident you are and what sort of laptop you have, as well as the ambient temperature and other factors.
To answer the original question, yes it is dangerous, as is al overclocking. It is more dangerous than with a desktop as the space is much smaller, but it can be done. I overclock my graphics card sometimes, but not usually because it gets worryingly hot. |

Around £20 in the UK, I believe you can get them for around $30 in the US.
I don't know whereabouts you are so it's hard to say, I have no idea on pricing outside the UK so $30 is an educated guess. Just make sure you get one that fits your laptop's screen size. |
