Vista is stable. Its the most stable OS release Windows has ever done. More stable than XP was when it came out. Here is a site from Microsoft that lets you browse the new features. Windows Vista: Features you can also go down to your local Best Buy and play with the Vista computers.

some people who tried it say that it is much slower than xp and also if you check the requirements, it needs atleast 800mhz where xp needed 300, that is like more than double and the ram needed is now a minimum of 512 instead of 64, so a pc with 512 wont be able to function at its best if vista is installed and which is probably why one would atleast need 1gb+ for a pc to run good with vista (1gb ram is recommended). also im not sure about this fact, but some said that vista uses something like directx10 which still is not supported by games or something like that, is that true? they said xp would work better with games for now.

The a lot of games work with Vista. DirectX10 is only available for Vista users. You can also download DirectX9 on Vista it will run both 9 and 10 for some reason.
Here is a list of known games that do not work with vista: Aliens versus Predator 2 Americas Army 2.7 (32-bit) Anno 1701 Age of Empires and the Rise of Rome expansion Age of Empires II and the Conquerors expansion Armed and Dangerous Arx Fatalis Blade Runner (32-bit) Baldur's Gate (32bit) (Polish version, English should work well too) Baldur's Gate: Tales of the Sword Coast (32bit) (Polish version, English should work well too) Battle for Middle-Earth 1 & 2 Battlefield 2 & Special Forces (Run BF2.exe As Administrator.) Battlefield 2142(32bit) Battlefield 2142(64bit) - Same settings used on XP, crashes to desktop at every map change (after a certain period) due to low video card memory (256mb). Disable Areo or set texture settings lower. Black and White 2 Blood II The Chosen (It rarely crashes, but this was happening under XP too.) Broken Sword: The Angel of Death Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth Call of Duty & United Offensive Call of Duty 2 (run cod2mp_s.exe in XP SP2 compability mode; SP fine.) Call of Duty 2 upgraded to 1.3 works on Home Premium RTM no trouble (32 bit) Championship Manager 2007 Civilization III (run as administrator, XP SP2 compatibility mode) Cobra 11 - Nitro (StarForce protection vista-update required) Command & Conquer: Generals Commandos: Beyond The Call Of Duty Company of Heroes (32 bit Home Premium) No prob's. This should allow all features of game to work properly, including LAN and Battle.Net play. If the game takes too long to start up, try disabling Aero Glass (or under compatability disable desktop composition). Doom 2(Doom95) (Requires DPlay.dll in the game's directory for doom95 to work properly) Doom 3 (Requires working OpenGL support) Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil (Requires working OpenGL support) Doomsday 3D Engine v1.9.0 Beta 4 Duke Nukem 3D Atomic Edition with all Add-Ons (for Windows Edition; not original 16-bit MS-DOS) (This game works slowly with too low performance if you don't install the driver of your graphic card manually although Vista automatically recognizes and installs the drivers of your graphic card and DirectX.) indeed is a scary list, atleast it takes out the most important titles, which means one would have to play others, and it is not even sure other games will work perfectly, this just shows that vista somehow was released without being 100%, atleast gamewise.

I'm planning to upgrade to the Home Basic within a week and can't wait. The security issues are important to me. The only program I have that's not capable with it is the MSN Explorer I was just wondering if I don't like it, I guess I can go back to Windows XP Professional. I feel all new programs have bugs in them.
