Vista is stable. Its the most stable OS release Windows has ever done. More stable than XP was when it came out. Here is a site from Microsoft that lets you browse the new features. Windows Vista: Features you can also go down to your local Best Buy and play with the Vista computers.

stable, maybe, but i bet they still have a lot of things to update sooner or later, and no reason to rush as people wont find a huge change when switching.

Well obviously there is more to update. Even though it is stable there are still bugs to be worked out. SP1 is comming out I belive in March I don't remember though. SP1 will fix the reported bugs and will also add more features.

some people who tried it say that it is much slower than xp and also if you check the requirements, it needs atleast 800mhz where xp needed 300, that is like more than double and the ram needed is now a minimum of 512 instead of 64, so a pc with 512 wont be able to function at its best if vista is installed and which is probably why one would atleast need 1gb+ for a pc to run good with vista (1gb ram is recommended). also im not sure about this fact, but some said that vista uses something like directx10 which still is not supported by games or something like that, is that true? they said xp would work better with games for now.

I know its a lot but considering there are thousands of games thats not much.
even if you say it that way, some of the games listed above are a must, and for some people if these games cannot be played, then they probably wont have much to play.. generals, diablo 2 exp, battlefield 2 and even counter strike source arent supported :S what would be left for people is to go play card games anyway, that list is scary, now i have more of a reason not to get vista any time soon.

indeed is a scary list, atleast it takes out the most important titles, which means one would have to play others, and it is not even sure other games will work perfectly, this just shows that vista somehow was released without being 100%, atleast gamewise.

that list is huge, where did you get it from and also, does that mean other new games work ? or just untested?

I'm planning to upgrade to the Home Basic within a week and can't wait. The security issues are important to me. The only program I have that's not capable with it is the MSN Explorer I was just wondering if I don't like it, I guess I can go back to Windows XP Professional. I feel all new programs have bugs in them.
