I still haven't put QuickTime back on FrankenPuter since my rebuild, and it looks like a good thing too.

A previously undocumented flaw in Apple's QuickTime media player could be exploited remotely by attackers to install malicious software on computers running either the Windows or Mac OS X operating systems, according to the inaugural posting by the Month of Apple Bugs project, a month-long effort that promises to feature a newly described security hole in Apple's software each day for all of January.

Don't get Quicktime, get Quicktime alternative.
It's Media player Classic, which is awesome, plus Quicktime codecs to play Quicktime movies etc.
I heard about the exploit which is one reason Is witched, the other was that hate Quicktime.
It's been used successfully on the popular social networking site myspace for a while now.
Month of Apple bugs, eh? I heard there was also a month of browser bugs some time ago, and some guy uncovered one flaw in one browser each day. I was shocked at how many existed.

Spyware and virus free, I'll vouch for it.
Like I say, it's just Media Player Classic, which is awesome, plus some codecs for Quicktime and the options dialog box from Quicktime added in.

Yeah I use media player classic its the best I think for all the media formats incept Lossless audio which I use Foobar2000 I highly recommend Media Player Classic

My quicktime installation prompted me to automatically update with the security upgrade yesterday :)

well i have to still use quicktime even if there was no fix, yes the alternative can be ok for a few files, but quicktime still supports more files, and thats why i reinstalled it. i had deleted it and installed the alternative at first only to find out it was not perfect.

i don’t use quicktime player, so i am safe, but i don’t think it would hurt much either way because not everyone with quicktime gets hacked.

there are always exploits to every singe program that uses the internet somehow. i know it is better to get an update, but still even if there was any it shouldnt be a problem. i mean i even have not updates windows for a while so i know my pc is more exposed to hackers than others :S and nothing has hit yet.

im using quicktime. i know it was for last month, but have not gotten any problems, i guess i got lucky.
