What's the going prices for computers right now?

It's hard for me to keep track of computer prices, especially since they usually come in a wide range of prices. Anyway, what prices can people expect to pay for ready-to-go computers these days?

You could buy an off-the shelf computer, ready to go, for about £300, but not a very powerful or very good one
About £400-£700 for a relatively cheap but capable one, and the sky's the limit for how far up you can go

not sure about desktops but on notebooks, it depends on the specs and the brand. notebooks that have amd for processors are significantly cheaper than those with intel processors.
