As you've probably heard, Dell is recalling millions of batteries that could suddenly catch fire and explode.
The latest incident that caught widepsread attention is the Yahoo staffer who took his/her personal laptop to work and Yahoo ended up having to evacuate. For the love of God if you have any of the the following models PLEASE take Dell up on the recall offer. Dell Latitude D410, D500, D505, D510, D520, D600, D610, D620, D800, D810; Inspiron 6000, 8500, 8600, 9100, 9200, 9300, 500m, 510m, 600m, 6400, E1505, 700m, 710m, 9400, E1705; and Dell Precision M20, M60, M70 and M90 mobile workstations; and XPS, XPS Gen2, XPS M170 and XPS M1710. |

My sister has a Dell computer, but it's new, so I doubt it's affected. However, I want to make sure. I can't find a model number. Do you know how to figure out the model number of the computer?

Hi Scott
Most Dell models have an ID Service Tag with the code on. By going to the Dell site you can check the service tag against their model listings Hope this helps

Realiability of Dell PC and laptops are not good, but the price is cheaper compared to others that is why, Dell has so many customers including manufacturing companies.
