I use simple php blog
Simple PHP Blog - Project Homepage just upload it configure it...no need of having an sql server connections and just run it :)

Don't use free blog accounts. You don't own the domain and your just adding content to someone elses site. You're better off buying your own domain, hosting it and installing wordpress yourself.

O are you logging for a host to setup your blogs or do blog hosting?
I maybe can help, i do custom sites/setup for all clients so if you pick me i'll do blog hosting for you, or like the above posters said you can use wordpress. Also if you're looking for another good blog software it is: Moveable Type one of the best i must say but not as best as wordpress

Well, the problem with WP is they do not allow you to display Adsense on a hosted blog. It's a good thing for WP because it keeps the splogs (spam blogs) to a minimum, but for those of us who need to make a living it's a no go.
I used to hate Blogger, but for some reason I've been seeing my traffic rise using blogger as opposed to WP when it comes to the free hosting accounts. If you're going to host your own, you should definately use WP. I have a few WP blogs hosted at SiteGround. It's about $70.00 a year but WELL worth it. Single click WP installs, free domain and support is usually back to me within 10 minute regardless of the complexity of the problem. They have, in my opinion, the BEST support on the web as far as hosting goes. My two cents... |

Siteground's wordpress hosting is with Fantastico or directly?
My suggestion is to get a hosting account with cPanel and Fantastico and use that to autoinstall if you are a newbie. If you are not, then the best thing is to install it yourself. It ensures that you have better control over everything.
