If you are a blogger, you might want to take note of this.
I run FireStats on my blog which collects information about your visitors. It tells you where your visitors are from including which site made the referral. If you are anything like me, you click on the referrer to see who is sending traffic your way. If you see a referrer named tvsetmp3[.]com DO NOT CLICK ON IT!! The site gives you a fake ActiveX object error and a download option to upgrade the ActiveX codec. DON'T DO THIS EITHER!! Before being able to cancel, my AntiVirus went into action, warning me that it has detected the DR/Zlob.Gen virus in the browser profile directory (FireFox). Also, because of the popup boxes, I was unable to cancel or close the tab or FF itself. I was forced to end the process via taskmanager. Yesterday, Sunbelt BLOG posted a story about this. If you come across anything which looks like the screenshot below, DO NOT PROCEED! I'm just glad I have a dependable anti-virus installed. Although the threat level on this virus is considered low, I'm glad I caught it.
