Reviewme if you didn't know is a service where a blogger gets paid to post a review of a certain service on their blog. My question is, is it unethical for a blogger to take money to post about something they would otherwise ignore?
Thank you

I don't think so.
I know if a blog is filled with nothing but Splog matter, people won't continue to visit it but if a person stays within their niche and does the occasional review, it shouldn't affect their readership too much. As for making money pro blogging, I am all for that. It's like reading a newspaper column that you enjoy and having an advertisement for something you want to buy listed beside it, no one gets hurt. You get what you want and the person that took the time to write the article gets rewarded for putting out a good product/service.

Why not? If you are going to be reviewing something, why not get paid for it.
You can always choose to refuse reviews you don't want to do. You also need to post that your review is paid so you are not cheating your site visitors. And I don't think you can specify that the review has to be positive.

I think that though this isn't white hat its not black. This is a normal grey hat technique.. You are paying for advertisements and thats nothing new, and its nothing thats going to change. Sometimes you have to be open to change or you'll lose in the Search Engine Optimization game.
