How do you handle comments? Do you allow them to be seen before you approve them? Or, do you require all comments to be approved before they are published? Or, do you have a different system?

I let them be seen. I can take them off if they're offensive. For the most part everything is fine with the comments I get on my blog.

I always moderate them thanx to the many spammers our there.

that way visitors that return feel like they're welcome :)

Exactly. The only reason I started doing this was besides spam I got a lot of hate comments at one point of time.

That's what I do. It takes a little more effort up front but is well worth the time in my opinion.
