Default Are controversial topics good?

Is it good for marketing to be controversial or does this turn off visitors? I would think it is good, but sometimes I'm worried to post something that might be controversial, that might offend visitors and make them quit viewing my blog.

It really depends on what controversial topic and what you intend to achieve.

They can help start discussions. I love leaving the question open for my visitors to decide, unless I really feel strongly about something.

Recently I brought up the topic about a site AboutUs.org on my blog.

Yes, there are blog trolls that go around starting controversy to get lots of comments going. They fizz out fast though and probably won't net you any clicks or subscriptions...
