Default Is indexing for Desktop Search OverKill?

Indexers have some major restrictions / limits:
-File size limits. 2MB, 40MB, 80MB. I checked them.
-Poor context display. It's mishmash of text from their index file,
Useless context, just like their net stuff. Search is all about context.
-Can't easily export text search results.
-This search can hi-lite specified words, that aren't part of the search
but appear in the context. Indexers can't do this because they hack up
the context.

All my textual data from the last 10 years, is just 70 Megabytes.

OverKill you bet. Techies always go for the OverKill.

Default Spectate Swamp Desktop Search is NOW Open Source

The most powerful program on the Planet goes open source.

This simple 10,000 line Visual Basic 5 program does
Video, Music, Pictures and Text. With lots of room
for improvement.

Any takers?

visit the above MicroSoft site and request the most current
source code.

Still lots of the early release copies left.

Desktop Search is fun.

Wow! You've been gone awhile! Welcome back. :)

Don't mind me. It's just nice to see some old faces (names?) coming back to the forums.

Don't be a stranger!
