Default Altavista, Are you still using it?

Hi people.

Do you remember Altavista? The search engine that was famous and popular few years ago, but seems like nobody remembers it now, if you aren't using free website translation services. Are you still using it?

Like you say, the only thing I use with it is its translation services. Good old Babel fish, it's my first stop when there is a language barrier.

As far as the actual search engine goes, I don't think I have ever used it to be honest.

So far i never tried a single function of Altavista. But you are right, a few years ago it was more popular. Nowadays you don't hear about it much.

I think it was doing good until Google came. Almost no one uses that search engine anymore. :)

Neither have I made a single query on AltaVista. I have not got any referal from it too!

Babel fish is good, since it also helps translate pages directly, which Google's Translator cannot do. I feel thats the only reason why AltaVista still survives!

used that at some point, but not any more, not even for translation as google offers translation with a wider range of langauges than altivista does.

To be honest, I never really used Alta Vista. Not a single query on that search engine.
