that is the word going, there is a huge shortage in editors, that it is so hard to get listed, but another reason it is so hard, that you really have to make a really good website relating to content, it has to be relevant to your category and has to be really good and useful.

At one point, you could apply and get listed in 6 to 8 weeks, now it's almost impossible as AOL seems to have let it go :( Too bad too, was a great resource.

Dmoz is dead.. apparently they allow new submissions now.. however its an old and stagnant system as it is.. You can see Dmoz degrading, even their Page Ranking has dropped from PR 9 to PR 8, which is a huge change.
Page Ranking is staggered.. think PR1=5 Points PR2=25 Points PR3=625 Points PR4=390,625 Points Obviously higher you get the bigger the difference it is.. Page Ranking 9 and PR 8 are hugely different. |

Once the word was that you get listed anytime between now and never. So you should not expect too much. Don't spend too much energy on waiting for just that one. Instead look out for other good directories, too.

Why wasting your time trying to get listed in such directory? I think it's not a big deal sending traffic to your site, then why bothering?
I would prefer to do a good job with other better search engines and directories. |

I mentioned this on another site, but I try to stick to picking up expiring domains that are already listed in DMOZ. I don't know when they are going to get it together and if the domain is already listed that is one less headache to deal with.
