Default Wikipedia's search engine

Have you heard the recent news? Wikipedia, the online encyclopedia, will be launching its own search engine in partnership with Amazon.com . This is designed to compete with popular search engines Google and Yahoo. Frankly, I find the contents of Wikipedia credible.

Many people think that Wikipedia is going to be the next Google, and what do you know?
Doesn't Google help host some parts of Wikipedia because of all the bandwidth?

I don't think Wikipedia can replace Google's leading position among Search Engines, however Wikipedia is a great source of knowledge. I always visit Wikipedia whenever I don't understand a meaning of a certain term or say I was any kind of correct information about something. Wikipedia is a great help and a great site.

wikipedia and google arent the same, i cannot really call wikipedia for a "search engine" but more like an information database. the difference is that search engines not only include historical events and news etc, but also stuff from websites, and things which can be more private than useful to everyone. each one of those is used for something and neither can replace the other.

I think WikiSeek can be the next big thing. But I strongly believe that it can never replace Google. I think there will be a big 4 where Google, Yahoo, MSN and Wikipedia will rule.

I think Wikipedia's contents are good. But I don't think that it can compete with Google.

surely it is good, but as i tried to say, it is not the same, wikiseek would have all the good links of wikipedia, and i would use it for searching through out wikipedia, but i wouldnt be using it instead of google.
