I never saw the fascination with Technorati, I imagine it's because of all the content but come on, Google does the same if you think about it.

It's because Technorati has lots of members. And also there are few features of Technorati that can't be found in Google. I.e. pinging a blog is not allowed in Google Search just to name a few.

I've realized that Technorati is a great place to get traffic from, especialy for new blogs.

I started a new blog recently and it is already getting good hits from technorati with no promotion.

Technorati is SE for blog. Most people looking for blog are blogger. so you site is more likely to get link if someone found it in technorati than google

It's a great place for blogs, I think that's its main feature. I have been using Google, it can finds tons of blogs when you are looking any special keyword, but it doesn't ping blogs. If you have a blog, technorati is a good way to get traffic from.
