Wow, I should probably know this already, but what is Technorati? I understand it's a blog search, but what makes it unique.

Do I have to submit my blogs to have them indexed in Technorati?

It's not really a stupid question. Technorati is still quite new to most folks.

Technorati is the recognized authority on what's going on in the world of weblogs. We help people search for, surface, and organize bloggers and their daily posts.

I like Technorati's ping service or searching service. I like to build technorati tags into my blogs entries too.

I don't take full advantage of all their services though..need to pay a visit soon and see what I'm missing.

Well, its not stupidity at all because Technorati has a very user unfriendly interface which guarantees that nobody will ever get a hang of it. I was also like you when I first saw it.

Not that I've undergone "BIG" changes or anything like that. I'm still not that much familiar. I just do the "ping thing" for my site and like magic, I do get traffic from the dudes.

I am building a bookmark site I am going to try to add Technorati features to it.

I am curently in beta 1 version going to have contest to get site started in january and give away $500 in prizes to top 3 members

Technorati is basically blogger friendly blog search engine where we need to create an account and submit our blogs and whenever we post a new blog post, technorati bots crawl our blogs and include them in their database. Technorati also sends a lot of visitors to blogs. Personally I have received less visitors from technorati. Technorati also have some cool features like it shows us how many blogs links to our blog etc and gives us few cool buttons and plugins to make our blog look cooler. Hope I've explained.
