I REALLY hope this thing unfolds into a powerful web search tool. So far the beta version looks hot!

Here are the basic features.

Search by Color
Have you ever wanted to find an image that matches your logo, template, ad layout or even the outfit you're wearing? We did... (okay, except for the outfit part :-)) That's why we've added color searching capabilities to our advanced search options. Now anyone can quickly find images containing any color.

There are two different ways to specify a search color:

* Use the color picker. The color picker allows you to easily select a color from a palette of over 16 million colors (javascript required).
* Enter a color code. Advanced users can enter color codes using 6-digit hex notation. These codes can easily be pasted from applications like Photoshop, Illustrator and others.

About the images...
We index images in the public domain or available for free usage under various forms of copyleft licensing.

Who's using Yotophoto?
Designers, Bloggers, Educators, and Digital Artists from all over the world are adding imagery to their projects for free.

There's even a Firefox Plugin for the YotoPhoto Toolbar Search.

I have used that engine before, it is really great, you can search using any option you want "color, copyright...etc"

I think it really will get bigger.

Yeah it still need to grow a bit, but the idea is firm.

Does it only get picture in the particular shade you specify? Or, does it automatically search any similar colors. What if I wanted an image that was red, but didn't care about the shade?

Very good tool.I`ve just tried it and satisfied with the search results.Its database is not so big but it`ll be better in the near future i think.
