Yahoo never... Google the majority of the time... but Its a matter of putting your site out there as much as possible so you get it more known and make more money. It doesnt matter if I use it or if you use it, what does matter is someone does use it. Thats why its important.

I dont think you need to pay to get listed on that engine as also said at the above post by other members, my site is also being crawled by ask jeeves spider, lol, most of the time.

You don't need to anymore. I was just thinking that at one time you needed to. I could be wrong on that but it seems to have been the case a few years back.

Who would pay to get on Ask? Here we are debating whether anyone even uses it.

Anyway, they have bots now, and I don't think you need to pay.

Any quality search engine does require you to actively do anything to get listed. Their spiders will find you on their own. Never pay for inclusion into any search engine.
