Default what is the difference between local and not local server

Hi..

I wonder if it is an advantage to use local server to host our website rather than outside US.

because my office has wide contact in Asia and Europe we rely on email communications. is it an advantage to use non-local server to host web/email hosting when my office is in US ?

Or is it better to go for company which have local and non-local server to host ?

Please advise. an early reply is really appreciated .

warm regards.

Lillian

I suggest you host your server locally. First of all, email/web hosting nowadays is much cheaper than it was before. The only thing that is of much concern is the technical support and how efficient they can be contacted when trouble arises. Surely, its much easier and much reliable to contact people from within your local area than people on the other side of the globe. You can talk to them directly and they can be available for an immidiate onsite support.

It makes no difference to be honest. Servers in the US are really cheap.
Most have 24 hour tech support so that is no issue.
And the visitor can not tell at all where the site is hosted :)

I agree with all the opinions expressed...but do need to take care about response time. If I have my client base in states and I host site on an Indian server, the response time would be too high n this might frustrate your clients when they would navigate. So be aware!! Tech support/24 hours are the things which everyone provide be it global or local but its delightment and comfort of clients that matters most I guess!
