When deciding on an affiliate program, select one that really appeals to you. Don't sign up with the first high paying program you run across. Think about how easy it will be set up your affiliate account. What type of ads will you need to place on your website? Will they detract from your site?

Agreed, you should always be careful when it comes to selecting ads. For the sake of maintaining a professional appearance, ads should blend relatively well and be used in a way that allows them to work with the rest of your website.

It's also important to choose ads that are relevant to your visitors interests. Not only does that increase CTR and conversions, but it is less annoying for your visitors.
