Default Affiliate IDs

Just curious. Do you hide your affiliate ids or referral ids? The impression is that if your affiliate ids are visible, you are spreading spam. How can you possibly hide them in the first place?

I usually do not hide my affiliate id's because some programs have made it against their TOS. However, if it's not against their TOS I'll do it on occasion and depending on what I'm doing.

You can do it with a simple javascript in th header and the link.

I don't hide them. My blog posts have a (aff) after the links to indicate the same to my visitors.

There's no point in having the account if you're not going to try to get people signed up under you.

He means cloaking your links so that someone is not tempted to go directly to the site for whatever the offer is without clicking on your affiliate link. Tinyurl is one way of doing this. Some people will bypass your link and go directly to a page just out of spite...you would be surprised.

I maintain my affiliate IDs as is. However I make sure that I sorround my affiliate IDs with substantive content. Moreover, I make sure that the products of my affiliate IDs are credible and worth endorsing.

I just flat out tell people that the link has my referral information in it. I've gotten people to sign up that way, and most of them sent me a message saying that they didn't just go to the site because I was honest about having my referral information in the link.
